Growing through Service
At OMC, we believe that serving others is an important expression of our Catholic mission and an essential part of becoming compassionate, responsible members of our communities. Throughout the school year, students are encouraged to care for others, give generously of their time and talents, and recognize the impact they can have on those around them. Through classroom experiences, school-wide initiatives, and service opportunities, they develop compassion, responsibility, and a lifelong commitment to serving others.
Serving Others
Students have opportunities throughout the year to serve their school, parish, and broader community through projects and initiatives that foster compassion, generosity, and a commitment to helping others.
These meaningful service initiatives respond to the needs of others both locally and beyond. Opportunities include the:
- October Baby Bottle Campaign
- Fall Hygiene Drive
- Thanksgiving Pie Collection
- Rice Bowl Lenten Challenge
- Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day
along with other school-wide projects that encourage students to make a positive difference in their communities.
Growing in Faith
Faith inspires service at OMC. By supporting the spiritual life of our school and parish community, students share their gifts with others while deepening their own faith in the Salesian tradition of gentleness, humility, and patience.
The spiritual life of OMC is enriched through opportunities that encourage prayer, mentorship, and active participation in the Church. Experiences such as:
- Prayer Partners
- Altar Serving
- Church Choir
and other faith-centered traditions allow students to serve one another while strengthening the faith community we share.
Liturgies
Throughout the year, our school community comes together for Mass approximately once a month, as well as for prayer services during special seasons and holy days such as Thanksgiving, Advent, Lent, and Holy Week. Each Mass is planned and led by a different class, giving students a meaningful role in the liturgy. Rather than following a fixed monthly schedule, we celebrate Mass on specific feast days and the feast days of Saints, allowing our worship to reflect the richness of the liturgical calendar.
