We believe the best learning begins when children feel inspired to ask questions, explore, and discover. Our Early Education program nurtures a lifelong love of learning through purposeful play, hands-on experiences, and caring guidance while building the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual foundations for future success.
Early Education programs are offered for students in Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten.
Early Childhood Program
Learn more about OMC’s preschool and kindergarten program and how we support early learning. OMC follows the Archdiocese of Philadelphia curriculum, providing a strong foundation for every child.
Students must be 4 years old for Pre-K and 5 years old for Kindergarten by September 1 of the school year in which they enroll.
Math
Children build confidence with numbers through hands-on learning that develops early problem-solving and mathematical thinking.
ELA
In Pre-K, students build early language and pre-literacy skills in a warm, language-rich environment. In Kindergarten, they develop the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills that prepare them for future success.
Religion
Faith is woven into the daily life of our Early Education program, where students begin to understand God’s love while developing habits of kindness, prayer, and respect for others. Through age-appropriate lessons and experiences, children build a strong foundation in the Catholic faith.
Spanish
Students explore the Spanish language through weekly interactive lessons that introduce everyday vocabulary, greetings, numbers, days of the week, and other foundational language skills.
Music
Students develop musical skills through singing, movement, and instrument play, becoming tuneful, beatful, and artful. Through joyful, hands-on experiences, they explore rhythm, pitch, and musical expression while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Science
Students develop scientific thinking through hands-on exploration, discovery, and inquiry that inspires curiosity about the world around them. Along the way, they investigate topics including weather and climate, ecosystems, forces and motion, and introductory engineering design.
Social Studies
Students build an understanding of themselves and the world around them through lessons that celebrate community, culture, faith, and respect for others.
STREAM
Students visit our dedicated Innovation Lab each week to explore STREAM concepts through hands-on building, creative problem-solving, and age-appropriate technology. From designing structures inspired by The Three Little Pigs to experimenting with introductory robotics and coding, students discover that innovation begins with curiosity.
Art
Students develop creativity and self-expression through engaging, hands-on art experiences while building fine motor skills and an appreciation for color, shape, texture, and design.
Physical Education
Students develop gross motor skills, teamwork, and confidence through active play and age-appropriate physical activities while building healthy habits that support lifelong wellness.
Learning Support
A dedicated teacher assistant supports every Early Education classroom, giving students more individualized attention and support throughout the school day. Once students enter Kindergarten, a variety of academic support services are available to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and reach their individual potential.
