Clubs & Activities

Enriching Student Life

At OMC, we believe some of life’s most meaningful lessons happen beyond the classroom. Our clubs and activities are an important part of the co-curricular experience, extending learning through opportunities that foster leadership, creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Together with our academic program, these experiences help prepare students for success in school and beyond.

The Arts

Creativity takes many forms at OMC. Students can explore visual arts, music, performance, and other creative experiences that encourage self-expression, confidence, and artistic growth.

    Theater

    The theater program at OMC is a beloved tradition and a highlight of the school year, drawing enthusiastic participation from students across multiple grades. Involvement in the production, whether on stage or behind the scenes, fosters creativity, confidence, and collaboration and offers students a unique way to express themselves. 

    It’s an experience that builds not only skills, but lasting memories and friendships.

    Woodmere Art Program

    Art in the Afternoon is an after-school partnership between Woodmere and OMC. Students get hands-on art experiences that encourage creativity, self-expression, and engagement.

    • Grades: K-8
    • Season: September – December
    • Fee: Free
    • Time: Once a month on Mondays, 4 sessions total

    Get involved: Sign-up information is sent prior to the start of each session in the Weekly Newsletter. Priority given to students who have not participated before.

    Choir & A Capella Club

    The OMC Student Choir is a welcoming group where students come together to share their love of music. Members learn vocal techniques, harmonies, and teamwork while preparing a variety of songs for performances and Mass.

    • Time: Mondays afterschool

      Academic & STREAM

      Learning extends beyond the classroom. Students explore new interests, deepen their knowledge, and apply what they’re learning through academic clubs, competitions, and hands-on enrichment experiences.

        Robotics

        OMC’s Robotics Club team, RobO-MC, offers students a unique opportunity to explore engineering, critical thinking, and collaboration in a hands-on, supportive environment. Through designing, building, and programming robots, students develop resilience and ingenuity that extend far beyond the classroom.

        Congratulations to last year’s team on an impressive season! They achieved many milestones, including 1st place in 2026 at La Salle College High School’s annual First Lego League Robotics Competition, winning the 2026 Innovation Project Award, and placing 2nd in the Core Values Award.

        We also want to extend our gratitude to our generous sponsors, Rustin Tech and That HVAC Guy, whose support continues to fuel the growth and success of this exciting program.

        • Season: Students begin meeting in October on Wed afternoons and Sat mornings to prepare for competition in January

        Reading Olympics

        Reading Olympics is a reading competition sponsored by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The goal of the Reading Olympics club is to increase the quantity and quality of books students read for enjoyment.

        Student Newspaper

        Newspaper Club gives students the chance to write, report, and share stories about our school community. Students work together to create articles, interviews, and fun features for the school newspaper, which is published twice a year.

            Clubs & Community

            Some of the best memories are made together. Clubs and community organizations help students build friendships, develop leadership and character, and enjoy the traditions and experiences that make OMC such a close-knit community.

              Student Council

              Grades 4–7 elect one class representative, while Grade 8 elects four officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Together, they organize school activities and fundraisers. They also share student ideas and concerns to help make OMC a great place for everyone.

              • Commitment: Meetings held during morning snack; attend key after-school events
              • Requirements: Students must remain in good academic standing

              Voting takes place in school in early October.

                Chess Club

                Chess Club meets weekly for students to learn chess, practice new strategies, and play with their classmates. Students build problem-solving and critical-thinking skills while having fun.

                Vetri Foundation Cooking Classes

                In Vetri Cooking Lab, students are empowered to become mindful and educated food consumers by increasing exposure to nutritious foods, practical cooking skills, and nutritional knowledge.

                By putting the tools directly into students’ hands, the program encourages curiosity, teamwork, and confidence in the kitchen. Students leave inspired to make nutritious choices and share what they’ve learned with their families.

                • Grades: 3-8
                • Season:
                  • Fall: Grades 6-8
                  • Spring: Grades 3-5
                • Commitment: Once per week, Tuesdays 3-5 pm
                • Fee: $40

                Registration to be sent through the Weekly Newsletter and is by lottery, limited to 30 students per semester. Preference given to students who have not participated previously.

                Cub Scouts: Pack 1855

                Scouting has long been a meaningful part of youth formation in the Catholic Church, offering more than just outdoor adventures and badge-earning. It’s a program rooted in values, promoting honesty, respect, self-reliance, and teamwork, while encouraging fun, friendship, and personal growth. Through year-round activities, Scouts grow in character and citizenship all within a supportive and values-driven environment.

                • Grades: open to boys and girls K-5
                • Season: September to May, with optional Summer programming
                • Commitment: 2-3 meetings per month, with additional scheduled activities throughout the season
